Municipality of Agiou Georgiou

Municipality of Ag. Georgiou The most striking feature of this municipality is the resort of Agios Georgios, Pagon (San George North). Nestling in a South West facing horseshoe shaped bay sourrounded by high relief offering protection from the not infrequent North-Westerly gale (the Maestro), this resort is a firm favourite with tourists and water sports fans, especially families. The resort is overlooked from the north by the village of Afionas, offering impressive views of Ag. Georgios to the south and Arillas to the north.

Continuing south from Ag. Georgios, one can follow the road up the hill through the old villages of Pagoi and Prinillas, eventually emerging at the top of the hill on the south side of Ag. Georgios bay offering one of the most impressive views on the island, on a clear day encompassing a view from Ag. Georgios, through Ag. Stefanos, Sidari, Acharavi beach, Mt. Pantokrator and the mountains of Albania.
